NTU Data Privacy Statement for Students
Your data privacy is important to us and we are committed to ensuring that your personal information with us is private, safe and secure.
- To safeguard your personal data, NTU has implemented security measures to ensure all electronic storage and transmission of your personal data are secured with appropriate security technologies.
- A person who is engaged or employed by NTU and is granted access to personal information due to necessity of work, is required by NTU to treat the information as confidential and not to directly or indirectly disclose, publish or communicate them to the Media or 3rd parties in any form whatsoever, except with the written permission of the University. A person who fails to observe this data privacy policy will be subjected to disciplinary or punitive action.
- NTU may share necessary data with Government agencies for legitimate purpose and for serving you in a most efficient and effective way. NTU will NOT share your personal data with non-Government entities, except where such entities have been authorized by NTU to carry out specific services. For such sharing, NTU will require these entities to enforce data privacy conforming to its policy.
- We may share necessary personal data under the following circumstances:
- With persons or organizations providing students with scholarships and financial aid.
- With 3rd parties, including members of the student’s family or medical or security personnel, in an emergency if the University deems it necessary in order to protect the health or safety of the student or other persons.
- For publication or release of information that is customary by universities or other educational institutions, including but not limited to awards of prizes, medals, scholarships and student or graduation status.
- For granting access to student information for purposes other than those based on official purposes, NTU will seek prior consent of the student concerned for such disclosure.
- This policy statement is subject to any applicable law mandating or otherwise requiring disclosure.
